Arab G-WADI: Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in the Sultanate of Oman
On 18 Rajab 1431 H , corresponding to 20/6/2011, the establishment of Arab G-WADI was announced and its Statute was approved unanimously. At the same time, the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in the Sultanate Sultanate of Oman was asked to be the headquarters of the network. The first meeting of the Secretariat of the Arab G-WADI Network was held in Muscat for two days on 28-29/1/2013.
Its vision is the promotion of knowledge and capacity development on water resources management in arid and semi-arid regions , which include a wide range of Arab countries in light of current and future challenges in quantitative and qualitative water stress. It aims to expand the (G-WADI) community through wide participation of UNESCO centers and regional offices, and developing the connections in new areas. In particular, it aims for the promotion and encouragement the of scientific community participation through contributions and discussions.
